Tweets From Tuesday: Best Disney Hotel?

Recently I stayed at Port Orleans Riverside. The old Dixie Landings resort was amazing to stay at. It was quiet, quaint, and the amenities were well worth the upcharge for a Disney resort hotel. It became my favorite hotel on property and my time there made me not want to stay anywhere else. My loyalty to Riverside isn’t new and I’m sure I’m not the only one, so I opened up to Twitter to ask everyone what the best Disney hotel is and why? Here is what everyone said!

@gioDisney: Saratoga Springs is beautiful & walking distance from Disney Springs & if you ride the Disney buses, there is never a line. I’ve only ridden by Saratoga Springs and it looks super charming. It’s colorful and fun. I’d love to stay here at some point but it’s not super high on my priority list.

@Noly: Wilderness Lodge. Love the ability to take a boat to Magic Kingdom, lobby is beautiful, interior rooms and great pool. The Wilderness Lodge is a place many people consider a home away from home. It does have many extra perks. It’s worth a visit, even if it’s just to do the Hoop-de-Doo Revue!

@yohoyohoblogger: WL is the best cause of boat transport and you seem secluded even thou u r on property plus great dining choices. Ahh yes, another great couple of reasons to stay at the Wilderness Lodge. I didn’t realize how many people really loved this and would pick it over everything else! I’ve never eaten at the Lodge but I’ve heard great things.

@mholley579: Fort Wilderness, a calm quite break from the madness of the parks. And a TON of stuff to do inside the resort! Like the previous post, it’s seclusion is a big draw for this area. I’ve never done the camping trip at Walt Disney World but it could be something to put on my bucket list.

@DLRpodcast: of course we say Port Orleans! You get two great resorts, the Sassagoula, Yehaa Bob, and all kinds of exploring. It’s something I really fell in love with while staying at Riverside. Port Orleans, like the Fort Wilderness/Wilderness Lodge area is secluded and away from the craziness of the parks. It’s also much smaller which gives it a nice charm. I’m surprised more people don’t stay here.

@firstwdwvaca: Right now I like Boardwalk Inn – just a walk (or boat ride) away from Epcot and DHS, lots to do right on the Boardwalk. If I had the money, the Boardwalk would be my home Disney Vacation Club resort and I would buy into the property. It’s one of my most favorite places to visit while at Walt Disney World. I love the Boardwalk shops and restaurants and I love that the Yacht, Beach, Swan, and Dolphin are all there to walk to.

@buzzanddakota: I have to say Fort Wilderness (even though it’s technically a resort, I guess). So relaxing and always great people there. Another vote for the Disney campground. Makes me wonder if I need to do this sooner rather than later.

@PixieDustDaily: For family trips AoA for the rooms or Grand Flo for ultimate convenience to MK plus great quick serve 24/7. For solo trips I like Pop Century – cheap and good food court. 1 more, purely as a standalone resort AKL for ambience, food, and animals. I’ve stayed at Pop Century and it’s definitely a leap above the All Star resort hotels. I would stay there again if I was being more conscience of my cash for a trip. I’ve seen the rooms at Art of Animation and I do love them. The theming is spectacular, but I like the idea of getting away from “Disney” for the night. Animal Kingdom Lodge and Grand Floridian hotels are top of the line. They are amazing to visit. I don’t know if I could spend the money to stay at them. I do love sitting out and watching those animals at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. Spent a few hours doing that on my last trip!

@dvcwinner: none. Pretty nice resorts though 🙂 I’ve stayed off property but once you actually spend a night at a Disney resort, I think you’ll have to at least try it once. My family always stayed off property until we tried the Pop Century hotel. From there we have opted to always stay on property!

@wesleymjames: Grand Californian. #LocationMatters. Walk to everything in minutes. Views of parks and nighttime shows plus: beautiful. Finally a West Coast hotel! Grand Californian, like the Wilderness Lodge, just feels rustic, charming, and home-like. It’s so wonderful to walk around in and really feels like a small hotel even though it’s pretty large. The access to California Adventure and it’s location give it an extra perk.

@ZamboniNerd: Grand Californian, because it is the only one that looks directly into a park. Also DVC component is a great perk for us. I haven’t experience DVC for myself but I do have to say staying at the Grand Californian and getting the chance to look out over the park or over Downtown Disney is a huge benefit to staying there. It would be so cool to look out the window and see the Grizzly Peak.

@EpcotAKL: AKL. The reason why is because, where else can you see exotic animals in such a great resort. Not to mention the dining. Like I said before, we spent hours hanging out and looking at animals while wandering the Animal Kingdom Lodge. I would do it again in a heartbeat. I tried out Sanaa on my last trip and wasn’t as pleased as I had hoped to be but I will definitely be going back for other restaurants soon.

@Beccaberry73: Whichever one you’ve got booked for your next trip…because it means you’ve got another trip coming up! This is a great way to end this post. No matter where you stay, you should be looking forward to it because you’ve got a Disney trip on your hands and no matter what you do, where you sleep, or who you are with, you should have an amazing time! Great call!
